A Journey to Hidden Waterfall; Galboda Ella
Are you bored being at home? Are you fed-up with this virtual life? Then there will be peaceful scenery to get lost with your loved ones to have a break from this virtual hell!
Galboda Ella is a 30-meter waterfall which is originated from Galboda Canal in the Central Province wet zone. The path to the waterfall is going through an isolated village called Galboda which is located along the rail track between Watawala and Nawalapitiya. Since there is not a well-developed road system yet, the railway is the most convenient source of transportation for the villagers and travelers to reach the village. The road to the waterfall is surrounded by picturesque tea estates and peaceful woodland which is rich with rare species of beautiful orchids and reptiles.
If you are looking for a 1-day break from your busy life this will be an ideal place to visit with your friends. You can travel by train which is run through the Colomb0-Badulla railway line and get down at the Galboda railway station. Then, can walk for like 1 hour to reach the waterfall while feeling the fascinating views of the jungle and hearing the careless murmur of the waterfall from the distance
You can have a dip in the waterfall and click some beautiful pictures of breathtaking sceneries and it is better to bring some snacks with you. But make sure to bring back all the polythene and plastic with you because it is your responsibility to protect nature while enjoying your journey fully.
